How to effectively prevent deformation during welding of precision spot welders

During the welding process of precision spot welding machines, welding deformation is an issue that needs to be paid close attention to because it is affected by many factors. (1) Fine control of welding spot deformation of precision spot welding machines:


When the welding length is less than 1000mm, the deformation difference between the upper and lower parts of the welding spot is negligible, and its shrinkage deformation is stable in the range of 3~5mm.

With each increase of 1000mm in welding length, the shrinkage deformation will increase linearly by 1.5~2mm. Based on this law, the anti-deformation should be pre-set during assembly to ensure that the assembly gap of the upper part of the welding is slightly larger than that of the lower part to offset the potential deformation.


(2) Scientific regulation of welding deformation of precision inverter spot welding machines:

During spot welding, the shrinkage deformation of the welding spot is particularly significant, and the deformation difference between the two opposite places can reach 3~6mm.

During assembly, the anti-deformation should be accurately pre-installed according to this deformation law to ensure the stability and accuracy of the welding structure.


(3) Careful management of multi-pass welding process:


For metal structures that have been welded by multi-pass precision spot welding machines, welding deformation is more complex and changeable.

When welding straight welds, the amount of reverse deformation can be set with reference to the lower limit of single-pass welds to maintain the overall stability of the structure.

When welding ring welds, in order to effectively avoid welding deformation and reduce welding stress, special attention should be paid to staggering the weld positions by 180° to ensure excellent welding quality.
